Houston, Texas – September 5, 2011 – The One Step Closer Foundation (OSCF) & TIRR/Memorial Herman Proudly present its first Annual “Warriors for a Cure”. The event will take place Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 “Warriors for a Cure” is proud to welcome pro athletes from both the WWE & MMA! At the premier event, the WWE and MMA athletes will come together with one goal in common: To motivate, inspire and help ease the lives of those with disabilities. Through OSCF’s efforts these athletes, who all donate their time, come meet, speak and take pictures with patients in an effort to strengthen their spirits and minds Offering hope and support for optimal recovery and coping conditions. While TIRR Memorial Hermann takes a more hands on approach & changes lives by improving outcomes, offering hope and maximizing independence for people affected by disabling injury or illness… Together we are One Step Closer…
The athletes appear largely due to the generous efforts of the foundation’s own ‘Alicia Webb’, former WWE diva Ryan Shamrock, Sharmell & husband Booker T, & Booker T’s Pro Wrestling Academy. The event will be at TIRR/Memorial Herman, 1333 Moursund St. Houston TX 77030 from 11:00pm until 1:00pm. The event will be hosted by WWE’s Ryan Shamrock & X-Pac, with very special guests Booker T & wife Sharmell.
